Wou-wou-would you like to disco?

No, not at the moment, not until you work a better mix on this track, at least.

I think the overall sound quality is quite muddy, everything seems kind of flat and boring. The drums could be louder, and it wouldn't hurt to get some sidechain compressor on the bass :-) The hook is fine (i'd prefer a bit less reverb on the lead synth) and the beat works pretty well.

Overall decent loop.

High Octane

This track is pretty good man, i'm digging the growly bass and intense (!) drums! I would have liked it to be longer, though. And why in the world did you put it in Heavy Metal?

Great track anyway.

Rig responds:

Because it is! It's the instrumental version of my song "Yummy Muffin ft. Cyril" - check it out, it's more metaly. lol
Thanks for the review!

Excessively loud bass

I do quite like the feel of this track, one of the better drum&bass around.

I like the chord and lead synths, but the bass is way too deep and drills through everything else, completely ruining the mix for me. I don't know what sort of speakers you made this track on, but listening to the mix on high-end speakers in my studio the bass is way too loud.

The drums are a bit flat, though i do like the "cut-off" sound to them, missing a lot of treble. Some subtle distortion could do the trick.

Definetly a potentially good loop here, but you REALLY need to work with your mix.

This song was just for fun. I didnt feel like mastering it but thanx for the review!

Great!

I'm digging this piece! And here i was about to think that Newgrounds was becoming so overcrowded with noobs that there was no room for actual talent anymore. I love the slightly "lo-fi" sound this track has going on, and generally it has a pretty alternative feel. Great piece of work!

You can check out some of my experimental/drum&bass out as well if you like :)

Shameless selfpromotion, i know. The only way to get a little attention around here!

Superb track. 5'ed and downloaded.

Definetly catchy

Nice track you've made there! I fancy the bass and the leadsynth definetly is catchy.

The arrangement and choice of sounds were perfect, definetly a turnon for me xD You could have used some more time on the mix though, a little more reverb on some leads would've been nice, and personally i thought the kick drum was too loud and kind of disturbing to the rest of the mix. Also some more compression on the drums as well as the full mix would've been sweet.
Perhaps sidechaining the kick drum to some of the "non-lead" synths? Would give a much better feel of rythm for sure!

Beside from this there's not much more improvement to be done. Very nice track :)

Problem with making "conventional" dance music is that the standard just keeps vastly improving, making it very tough living up to the big-daddys!

Well, that's just my opinion anyway :p

Thanks for the review.

Ill try to check your stuff out soon.

Nice, could use some work though

First of all, i'd like to point out that i do in fact like this track. On an overall basis, it's pretty good, you've got great potential, and i believe than very soon you're going to make a track that i'll vote 10 (this is a RARE THING!)

The intro is nice, although i'd prefer a sort of fade-in on the "swirling" ambience. The track doesn't give you much feeling of rythm, and i think this is cool. The sounds you used for drums are very cool, but i think the delay on top kind of spoiled it.

The arrangement of the track itself is very diverse, but i think some of the synths themselves could do with a little more variation.

A good potential for an ambient evergreen, but you need to work on your mixing, and you should consider removing some delay effects. I always appreciate a good piece of experimental, and overall, this is a cool piece B)

I'm going to check out some more of your stuff later. I'll also be uploading some more tracks like "Sexually Transmitted Intelligence? Sox" soon, look for "Andet Sin" and "Seventh Track Goes Here" xD

>Keep up the experimental work<

Thanks for the listen,

Nice track

Hm, i'm gonna write this review while hearing the song, if you don't mind ;) Don't worry, already heard the track 3 times ^_-

I like the intro FX, nice to hear something new, i wouldn't include the "londons finest" vocal though, to be honest with you it sounds pretty dumb :/ consider re-recording it, with some energy, yell it out loud, give that mic a piece of your mind!

I enjoyed the EP in the beginning of the song, gives a nice funky, yet laid back attitude to the song.

I had trouble making a whole lot of sense out of the rest of the track, it seemed kind of random to me, but i think you consider altering this into a dub track rather than a techno track, it sounds pretty much like hard dub, with a 4*4 (four-on-the-floor, call whatever you want :P) beat

Nice idea, great ambition, but i honestly think you should work some more with this track. I don't know excactly how long you've been in the biz', but it seems that you in general have to put a little more effort into your stuff. That's just my opinion though ;/

Great potential though!

BritZombie responds:

I started these beats two days ago, my first proper go at it.

Thats why its not all that. Also, some I done with the other half of LF. The shout was a bit of a laugh.

But on the contary I did put a lot of effort into it.

Im only an amateur so I didn't understand some of what you said.

I'll post some more tomorrow, could you give your opinion on that or maybe on some others??

Techno Journey and Londons Finest is fairly good if you tell me how to improve.

Thanks a bunch, =)

Very nice...

...but to tell you the truth, this isn't jazz at all. Rather something like oldschool hiphop, although i'm not an expert on hiphop so i wouldn't know but i do know jazz, and this isn't jazz ;)

Don't worry about it though, it dosn't change that this track kicks a-...um...butt.

The groove is kicking very nicely through, and the laid back attitude of the whole track is very nice overall. Also the fact that you've made the track "loop-able" is a very cool gimmick for the flash users.

One thing i'd like to point out though, is the general quality of the audio. Sounds to me like you've compressed this track way too far, or you need some serious mixing on the track. It lacks a whole lot of top, and the bass seems muddy and irritates me. When compressing to mp3, make sure you make it a proper quality to begin with, flash users can compress it further via flash later if they need to. I'd reccomend as high quality as the Newgrounds 4 mb limit allows, that means anywhere between 128 kb/s and 192 kb/s depending on the length of the track, i can't say.

And that's all i had to say about that.

Kickass scratching, keep it up dude!

Kind Regards,

T7

Nice 'n' freaky ambient

This is really good, i like the spacy feel provided by the reversed (what is that, guitar?), though some parts of the track got a little too rough, at least for my ambient preferences ^_^

The "dribbling" effects sounds very nice, a nice additional could be a long dub-like delay once in a while. I was thrilled when the weird choir came in, they sound great hidden in the background as you did.

For ambient music, i'd suggest a little more reverb to smoothen things out, and drop that 4*4 kick, if you must involve a kick, i'd suggest something a little more innovative (try listening to some IDM, like Aphex Twin and you'll see what i mean).

At last, another thing you could improve is the end, it dosn't seem very natural- or loyal to the track to end it all so sudden, a fadeout or maybe some reverse-instrument solo with some weird effects and then slowly cut it all off with a low-pass filter.

That is all,

T7

thanks for the awesome review, man.
it is guitar.
i'll definitely take all your suggestions into consideration.

I like!

Great composition, i must admit i was expecting a low quality club-wannabe techno-track, but i was surprised to find this great piece in here!

It's not techno, rather some mixture between ambient and glitch, as we've seen popular aphex twin and our own NG Kingbastard do it.

I like the cathedral mood the choir-like sounds create as well as the bit-crushed drum in the background. Try doing a few more variations, especially on the drum, if you want better diversity and a more IDM-like feel.

Overall great loop, don't let the 8 get you down, i just try to vote a little more fairly than a lot of people do, voting 9 and 10 on almost every track they review. The bad tracks, in their opinion gets an 7 or 8, instead of the more deserved 5 or 6, if i was to decide.

Well anyway, enough chit-chat.

Good luck with the music, you've got great potential! Looking forward to hearing more :)
